Well I posted pictures yesterday at the request of Stacie but I didn't have time to write about them so here goes...
If you look below you can see the pictures.
Jett was a Ninja, maybe more specifically a 'Shadow' Ninja. H originally wanted to be Jengo Fett (sp?) but we came across some old costumes and found the Ninja one. He agreed to be that instead of the $50.00 Jengo Fett, if he was able to pick out a bag of his own Halloween candy...okay let me see...$50.00 costume....$3.00 bag of candy. Wow that wasn't a hard decision. It was a lot of fun to see him in that costume because Luke wore it maybe 5 years ago. I painted Jett's face and hair and spiked it up into a mohawk. He was a happy guy.
Kennedy ended up being Einstein on Halloween. She was Kit Kitredge all week before that. At the Dance Academy they wore their costumes to class. Well Kennedy takes 5 classes so by the time the actual day of trick or treating came along she was a bit over it. She was really into the hair paint and stuff and at the 11th hour Andrya came up with Einstein. Kennedy put on my old pastry chef coat, I teased out her hair, sprayed it white and voila! Einstein!
Luke was The Joker. When I went thrift storing to buy the peices of his costume, I had the 'comic book' Joker in mind but when I did his hair and make up, he ended up looking more like Heath Ledger's character. I couldn't get the mouth right and it just looked like smeared lipstick...exactly like Heath Ledger's character. He was not sad as that is The Joker he wanted to be in the first place.
Andrya was a little skeptical at first with my idea for her to go as The Bride of Frankenstein but once we got her hair and make up done she was quite pleased. She was a trooper too. I can't tell you how much hair product that girl had in her hair(Lots and Lots of AQUA NET!). It's amazing what black hair paint and black eyebrow pencil will to to a red head. She looked like a totally different person. FYI if you ever need to put someones hair up that way, use a 20 oz. bottle to wrap the hair around. A friend of mine told me about that little tip. Just thought I would pass it on.
Maxwell, as always, knew EXACTLY what he wanted to be. And of course it was not something real easy. He wanted a cape...or cloak as it ended up being. You know the sort that cost lots and lots of money. He also wanted the Baker family Crest on it. Ya, umm that did not happen. He got the cloak( I created, sewed, taped and pinned) and I embroidered a wolf on the back (originally it was gonna be a lion but he changed his mind...UGH!) I embroidered a crest on the pocket of the shirt he wore but it wasn't the Baker family crest. I found him linen pants at the thrift store and I bought him rubber boots. He insisted on boots so he got green rubber gardening boots. Beggers can't be choosers. It wasn't too bad once the whole outfit was put together.
Michael decided to jump on the bandwagon with Maxwell so I just made everything the same for him but in black. He got a bear on the back of his cloak and he wore black and silver ladies pj bottoms as his pants (haha). He too wore rubber gardening boots but his were black.
All in all. The looked great!
Todd as you can see, did dress up. He and Cameron, one of Mike's friends that is always here, wore little kid police and swat costumes from the $1.00 store. LOL they were hysterical!! We originally bought the second set for Eric, my nephew that is here to visit but he came with his own costume. He was a frenchman. He is the photographer of all the pictures below so we don't have a picture of him. He did make an excellent frenchman though.
Well I hope this is enough of an update.
I have attached some pictures of our pumpkins. We had a great time carving them.
