My most recent is not on here yet but I thought I would share these.
This year for Kennedy's birthday, we did a life size version of the boardgame CLUE. I sent out invites to all the girls stating that they were needed for questioning. I gave them each a character they they needed to dress as. We changed out all the names to girls names so that none of them needed to be a boy. We based them each on a color. They were as follows. Ms. Ruby Scarlett (Kennedy, of course), Miss Honey Mustard, Miss Olivia Collard-Green, Ms Daisy White, Miss Petunia Peacock, Miss Fiona Peach, Miss Violetta Plum
, and Miss Daphne Rose. They did a great job of it too! We changed our rooms in our house to be the rooms in the game. Todd has an amazing ability to make up riddles. They had to guess the answer to the riddle and that would tell them where the clue was. They each were given a clipboard at the beginning of the game so they then marked of that suspect and that weapon off their list. The first person to guess correctly , won the game.
They all dined on finger sandwiches, tarts, little jello cups etc. For Kennedy's birthday dessert she chose little chocolate pies. They were really cute. The girls drank sparkling cider out of plastic wine glasses and had hot chocolate served from my lovely tea set. Instead of cream and sugar, we had marshmellows and whipped cream. After the game and food were finished the girls promptly locked themselves in the library and dance like crazy people to no other than Justin Beiber.....sigh. It was a great time. The card to the left that kennedy is holding out of reach of her friends is covered in pictures of the heart throb...they kept trying to grab it. It was hilarious.They had an awesome time and Kennedy was very happy!
This Halloween was very interesting. I only had 4 of my kids trick or treating. Of course, we had others come along also but I personally only had 4 in costume. Jett was a black ninja, not much different than last year but he was a very happy guy and thats what matters. Kennedy was a lady bug. After only being able to find baby lady bug costumes or not so appropriate costumes, I just decided to create hers. It was fun and I think she turned out great. Luke is the 'Cirque de Freak' version of a vampire. I think he looked awesome. I think the nails lasted maybe two houses and he tore them off. Ande....well, what can I say about Ande's costume. She thought of it last minute and I'm not sure what she called it but I think she was Richard Simmons....lol. Grammie was here from California to celebrate Halloween with us and that was a kick. We had a weenie roast outside and didn't let the rain deter us from it. Colleen and Todd made a trip to Wal-mart to get a pop up tent and then all was well. Most of you know that my in-laws own a house in Knoxville that we used to live in. When we moved to Oak Ridge, the house was rented out. The last tenants decided it was okay to let the house go to shambles. When Todd went to collect the rent one month, he realized they had up and abandoned it. There was serious water and mold damage. We have since got someone out there to get into the walls and get rid of the mold. Now, Michael and some of his friends, Cameron, Bogusz, and Brewster are going to move into it and repair it for us. I took the boys over there yesterday and these pictures show just how bad the damage is. All I can say is they have their work cut out for them.
Monday night The Boys and Girls club through a carnival style party. It was to celebrate Mr. Hahn's (the executive director of the club) retirement. He has been there for 51 years. The whole community was invited to celebrate with inflatables, rock climbing, dunking booth and such. It was a good time. Here are some pictures of Kennedy and Jett on the rock climbing wall. They both made it to the top. The little blonde kid with Kennedy is Seth, her B-Friend.
