This year we decided to celebrate Christmas in a cabin in the mountains. Thanks to Guy and Colleen we were able to rent a beautiful three bedroom cabin. We left for the cabin Sunday the 21st we stayed through the 27th. Anne and Steve were in Gatlinburg also, thanks to Guy and Colleen. It was so great having them up there. Anne and I were able to make Christmas cookies and such with the kids and the day after Christmas her and I went to the Outlet mall while Steve and Todd went golfing.
We decorated our tree with homemade ornaments that the kids made. I bought some craft supplies and had them go to it. Jett was so devistaded that we didn't have a star for the top of the tree that Ande made one out of pipe cleaner. It was hideous and awesome all at the same time.
There was a jucuzzi bath tub in two of the rooms and a full size one out on the back deck. The kids were in it everyday, I think.
We brought Brian, one of Micheal's friends with us. I guess he really is a friend of the whole family but he started off as Mike's friend. He is here often and he feels like part of the family so it was only natural to invite him. It was fun to show him our Christmas traditions and such. He and Michael came home Christmas afternoon so Brian could be with his family and Michael could go to work.
I think everyone was happy with what Santa brought. Michael, of course, doesn't get gifts from santa anymore so mostly he just got money. Maxwell got money to invest in the stock market, Andrya got clothes and other girly things, Luke got a very large Nerf gun and art supplies, Kennedy got mostly clothes and such but we did give her, her very own razor so she can finally shave her legs. Jett got a little of everything. I think the most memorable is the Moon Sand we bought him. Can you guess why it's so memorable....it's everywhere! I bought Todd a new robe which was very over due as his old one was bought on our honeymoon. He also bought himself some golf stuff. He was very good this year in his choice of gifts for me. He bought me a limited edition of The Tales of Beedle the Bard by J.K. Rowling. I was and am very pleased! He aslo gave me shopping money for my trip to the Outlet Mall with Annie. I bought a Coach purse. I know, I know, I said I didn't like them. Well I don't like the C's all over them. I think if your intital isn't a C then why would you want a purse with C's all over it. Well anyway mine does not have C's on it. It is boring black and says Coach in black on the front. I really like it and I know it's good quality. It was also a REALLY good deal.
Last but not leat the last day we were there my back totally went out. I was stuck in a rocking chair for almost two hours until Kennedy woke up and was able to go get Toddout of bed. Todd and the kids had to pack the cabin by themselves. I was unable to drive so Todd had to drive us home and then go back for his truck. That sucked! I wasn't able to get to a Chiropractor until Monday. When I finally did I was basically, in a nut shell, told that my back is REALLY REALLY messed up. Apparently, it looks like I have been in a car accident. My spine is twisted and my ribcage had shifted and my pelvis was WAAAY out of line. So, I continue going to the Chiro. it has been wonderful releif. I woke up the third day without any pain. Who knew? I just thought that's what happens when you get old and fat.
Hope this helps SOME OF YOU feel better....
Love you Stace!!!
