So things have taken an amazing turn over here at the Burrow. Yesterday we had many people in and out of our house. The insurance adjuster started off our morning with the refreshing news that the damage that had been done to the house would most likely be covered. Now what ever had caused the problem may not be covered but the damage would be covered. YAY GOD! He also told us to bring in someone to find the problem and to do what it took to find the problem. So we called Tom from Breath Green and he came out right away. After a lot of poking at this and that we discovered that we had two different issues on our hands. The leak that caused the floor to buckle was actually coming from the refrigerator. We had thought this initially (last monday) but after moving it away from the wall there was more water where we first had seen and none under the friggie. The only thing we can explain this is the water that had gone into the walls fell back into the lowest part of the kitchen, where the friggie goes... The refrigerator is still under warranty and they are coming today to fix it. YAY GOD!
Now the leak in the ceiling....
Many, many people were dumbfounded by where this water was coming from but Todd and I stood firm that it was coming from outside. Otherwise why would it leak when it rained? Tom who now is our BEST FRIEND...lol, took a ladder outside and looked at the mulitple vents on the outer wall of our house right by where the leak was. Many people had gone out and looked up at the vents but noone went up there to check. Well from standing on the ground everything looks peachy but when you get up there, there are big holes on the top of the vent thus bringing in water when it RAINS! It looks to be from hail possibly. Now if you look up it into our ceiling where they cut it away, you can see outside.
So you see we have solved the terrible mystery of the Leaky Cauldron.
But the best part is that ALL of it is covered by our insurance. The adjuster mailed us out a check yesterday afternoon. He was very generous. We will be getting everything replaced. I know that the construction of all this will be miserable but it will all be worth it in the end. Not only because we will have new floors and stuff but because it is amazing to see Gods work!
You see GOD ALWAYS WINS!!
Go away satan!
The heater is still out but it will be fixed today. It is not quite so cold in here today as Todd went and picked up some space heaters from his work. Sadly, Strep throat has caught up with me and I am now dealing with that but all the kids are feeling better. I would rather be sick than have them sick.
So we start the journey of construction....
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! to all of you have prayed for us. If you wouldn't mind, please continue to keep us in your prayers. We will desperatly need it.
Love you!!
